Update on Unauthorised Encampments – 28th September 2017

Residents will be aware of recent issues in the Parish with various unauthorised encampments in the area.  The Parish Council have been working closely with the relevant landowners in the Parish, and with both the Borough and County Councils where appropriate.  The status as of today, 28th September, is as follows:

  • Royal British Legion site – the MOD is aware and is working to move on the encampment at this site.  The issue has been raised at higher levels within the MOD and the Police, and the Parish Council, with the aid of our County Councillor Rhydian Vaughan, is working hard to get it resolved soon.

  • Clift Meadow car park – the police were able to move this encampment on Tuesday 26th September.  However, it moved straight to Campbell Court.  The land agents are aware and are taking the necessary steps.

  • Cufaude Lane – this site is subject to a court injunction.  However, there have been some legal issues, which enforcement officers at Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council are working to resolve.  The Parish Council are continuing to maintain close contact with BDBC, and will let residents know as soon as there is any movement on this issue.

Please be assured that the Parish Council is working hard and keeping in close contact with all of the relevant authorities, including landowners, Borough and County Councils, and the Police.  In the meantime, if you have any queries, please contact the Parish Clerk at This email address is being protected from spambots.
