As discussed in the article Temporary Road Closure - Pond Road - 7th July 2017 the temporary road closure was put in place due to upcoming work.  The road closure was necessary because a tree in the area has been identified as dangerous.  Staff at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council will be attending in the near future to carry out a procedure known as a "retrenchment prune".  This will enable to the tree to survive whilst removing the potential danger.

It has been brought to the Parish Council's attention that person(s) unknown have been removing the safety tape and warning signs.   Please do not remove the tape or signs. The tape and signs are there because of the potential danger as the area is considered 'unsafe' at present.  The previous article above identifies a route via Pond Road which is a temporary measure only.  The work is scheduled to be completed as soon as possible.

If you do see someone removing the tape and/or signs, please report this to the Police using the 101 non-emergency number.

The tape and signs are there to protect members of the public, please be responsible and use the temporary route until the work has been completed.
