Coronavirus - update Tuesday 16 June 2020

Welcome to the latest edition of Basingstoke & Deane Today, updating you on our services during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Town centre

If you're planning a visit to the town centre to support our local businesses, you'll notice a few changes which have been introduced to keep you and others safe.

We've added plenty of signage around town to remind you about these changes, which we hope will help, and you can find out more about the new measures using the button below.

Garden waste collections

Garden waste collections started again this week for our 12,000 existing garden waste customers in the borough.

Following a pause in the service during the pandemic, customers have accumulated a lot of garden waste. Please do not overfill containers as bags or bins that are too heavy to lift cannot be collected.

The extra garden waste could also see our crews taking longer to complete rounds, so please check our website for service updates at the end of the day.

Charity shop donations

If you've cleared out the house over the lockdown period, you may be thinking about donating some of your unwanted items to your chosen charity shop. Before you load up the car, be sure to call ahead to check that they are open and accepting donations. If not, store the items until they do reopen. Please don’t leave donations at the doorstep. For more information on recycling in the borough, use the button below.
