Last week a number of complaints were received from villagers of apparent poor workmanship carried out to a manhole cover situated on the pavement along The Street (between Longbridge Road and Strawberry Fields). A Bramley Parish Councillor had seen these works and raised the matter with the Parish Clerk who subsequently reported this to the authorities. This will be monitored and the Parish Clerk will post any updates as and when they arrive.
We would advise residents to exercise caution in the area as the level of the path has been raised considerably.

This also provides an ideal opportunity to remind residents that despite the Parish Council reporting this event, our report carries no more weight that any other member of the Parish Reporting the same.
The fact "something" has been reported does not necessarily guarantee it will be dealt with (promptly). Obviously, we would expect safety critical reports to be dealt with in a timely fashion. We would however encourage residents to submit their own reports as more often or not, the number of reports received by the authorities increases the chance it is dealt with in a timely fashion. Simply put, if only one resident reports a defect, the authorities may take the view that "it can't be that bad if only one person has reported it". So if you see a defect, please report it, even if you are aware that a neighbour or friend has reported it. You will find a series of links in the left hand side bar on most pages of this website. These links will take you to the various authorities responsible.
In the case of any Pavement defects, these can be reported by clicking on the "Pavement Problems" link. This will take you to the Hampshire County Council page that deals with reporting pavement problems. Their site lets you drop a pin onto a map and highlight almost the exact location as well as providing a description of the problem. This ensures the issue is passed to the correct organisation for resolution. If in doubt, send the details to the Parish Clerk so that progress can be followed (and reported by the Parish Council if required).
