Network Rail (NWR) have recently sent out a letter mentioning the use of the trains horns and level crossings.   The letter states that trains will be sounding their horns between 6.00am and midnight every time they are approaching the level crossing.  Our Parish Council Chairman, Cllr. Tony Durrant, called NWR for verification and has established that this letter does not apply to Bramley Crossing as it has a full barrier and lights.

So just to clarify, NWR have confirmed that the trains do not sound their horn now and nor will they do so in the future despite what the NWR letter states.
(However bear in mind that if any engineering works are being carried out in the vicinity, approaching trains from any direction will always sound their horns to warn the crew working on the track ahead).
