Road Closure - Bramley Railway Crossing - March/April 2019


Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, proposes to make the following Order:-

Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.

Effect of Order:  All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along Bramley Level Crossing, as directed by traffic signs.  The closure is to allow for rail inspection and repair works.

Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 30 March 2019 for: 1) 23:00 on 30th March 2019 to 07:00 on 31st March 2019; 2) 23:30 on 27th April 2019 to 08:00 on 28th April 2019. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the closure will be for 3 months to incorporate an overnight closure in March and an overnight closure in April)

Alternative Route:  Sherfield Road, A33 Reading Road, A339 Ringway North, A340 Aldermaston Road, Bramley Road, Silchester Road, The Street and vice versa.
