Bramley Parish Council Noticeboard

Grass Cutting – Campbell Road Roundabout

Following recent concerns about the level of the grass exiting from Campbell Road at the roundabout, Bramley Parish Council is happy to report that the grass has been cut today.  This was carried out in co-operation with the Parish Council, and was a one off arrangement only.  Options for getting the grass cut regularly are being looked into urgently by the Parish Council.

We continue to be in communication with HCC Highways and with Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council about maintenance at the roundabout.  As some of you are aware, HCC Highways, who are responsible for any such maintenance, have said that they will be cutting the verges around the roundabout just once a year (although the Parish Council has not yet received official notification of this).  Clearly, this is not nearly enough – at this time of year the grass grows extremely quickly and needs to be cut more regularly.  The Parish Council are also in discussions with HCC Highways to get the level of the bank at the Campbell Road exit lowered – this is in large part responsible for a lot of the problems, and the Parish Council consider it to be a major safety issue.

The Parish Council would like to assure residents that road safety is taken extremely seriously, and that every attempt is being made to urgently find a long term solution to the issues at the roundabout.
