Important information on bin collections

We are sorry to say we have had to make the difficult decision to temporarily reduce the frequency of our waste collections. From Monday 20 April, grey waste bins will be collected one week (every fortnight) and the green recycling bins and glass containers collected the next. The day of your collection will not change and your green bin and glass container will be collected on your normal recycling week. We are very proud of our bin crews and the work they have continued to do to deliver a bin collection service to our residents during these challenging times. We have tried to reduce pressure on the teams by suspending garden and bulky waste collections and this has enabled us to sustain weekly collections for more weeks than anticipated. But we now need to make this decision to protect our key workers and ensure we can continue to deliver a reliable waste, recycling, glass and clinical waste service for the duration of the pandemic. We will keep this under review and will go back to normal collections as soon as possible after the government restrictions have been lifted and we can safely do so. We are sorry for the disruption and we thank you for your understanding and ongoing support during this difficult time.
